The search can now be stopped. These brownies are the best you’ll ever eat. They are VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE! Extra rich and dense, with a crunchy, crackly crust that’s perfect for dunking in a cold glass of milk– almond milk.

Just 10 simple ingredients and 30 minutes (plus time to cool) are all you need to make these brownies.

They are naturally sweetened with coconut sugar and maple syrup, and almond meal and gluten-free flour make them free of gluten.

Make these brownies when you have people over, to bring on road trips and to barbecues in the spring and summer, or just to have on hand when you’re craving something sweet.

Are V&GF(vegan & gluten-free) brownies healthy?

Depending on the ingredients and how they are made, vegan and gluten-free brownies may or may not be healthy. Some vegan and gluten-free brownies may be healthier because they are made with whole, nutrient-dense ingredients. Others may be less healthy because they are made with processed ingredients.

Look at the item’s ingredient list and nutrition data label so you can make an informed decision about whether or not it fits into your overall healthy eating plan. Instead of using processed flours and sugars to make the brownies sweet, you can use almond flour, coconut oil, and dates. This makes them suitable for vegans and people who don’t eat gluten.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour: Brownies made with almond flour and gluten-free flour are wonderful. The almonds’ healthful fats and delightful, moist texture add to the dish.
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder: Use good Dutch-process cocoa powder in these brownies because it’s darker and will make them fudgier. Be sure to sift it to get rid of any lumps.
  • 1/2 tsp salt: Just a pinch is all it takes to bring out the sweetness.
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder: To help the brownies rise, you need a leavening agent.
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil(vegan butter ), melted: Makes a batter that is perfect for brownies because it is very thick.
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup(or agave nectar):
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract: for added delicious flavor!
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) :  Try baking these with dark and semisweet chocolate chips. The chocolate chips in this recipe help make the texture gooey.
  • 1/3 cup pecans or walnuts (optional):

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, almond milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. If using chocolate chips, stir them into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake the brownies for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the brownies are completely cooled, cut them into squares of 9 and serve. Enjoy!
